7th May 2015. For every sortie I survived past 20, I was happy escaping what I know is certain death sooner or later. Feeling the grip around my throat getting tighter for every sortie, every event, every returning to base low on ammo and fuel, over a sea of water...
Now it's 77 sorties. Numerous times I wondered if my time had come, then I was allowed to go on. But I cannot run away from fate forever, destiny is inevitable if you keep going. At 22 angels over France, my time had come.
So stand by your glasses ready
Hereโs a toast to the men of the sky
Hereโs to the dead already
And hereโs to the next man to die.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

(Stuntman)

Noi li ricorderemo."

Bella citazione da "The Revel" ("La Baldoria")
(An extract from a poem called โThe Revelโ, by the Irish poet Bartholomew Dowling,
This part was made into a song, and was quite popular among UK pilots during the WW1)
and "the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon.
Dark eyes Lyrics All the luck in the world
You've never seen your mother look younger than you
I watched you change colour from the back of the room
Now you're blowing through the treetops
And there's a weight on my back
But it's just another car crash
Just a fatal attack
But it's not your fault
I was scared, I still am
I will still call like you're there
And that's not your fault
You know your brother, you've shared his room
You've got his dark eyes, you're wearing his shoes
And every morning I wake
You're still there, I swear it's the same
But it's not your fault
I was scared, I still am
I will still call like you're there
And that's not your fault
Stand by your glasses steady
And drink to your comrade's eyes
Here's a toast to the dead already
And hurrah for those still to die
(B. Dowling)
-------
For the Fallen
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.
(Laurence Binyon)

[QUOTE=Cipson;187551]Great Video, Stunt...
and mitic quote from the โThe Revelโ, by the Irish poet Bartholomew Dowling.
(Made into a song, it was quite popular among UK pilots during the WW1.)
Very glad to fly against Pilots with these motivations, similar to ours, we get this occasion to propose to organise some dedicated Historical Simulation Events to fly together.
We, Squadrons of the "Italian Wing", will be proud to partecipate...
Finalmente!!! GLi ultimi due squadroni iscritti su SOW :
Quote:
CSAF from Slovakia have joined SoW this week. These chaps bring a new Luftwaffe Bomber squadron to the server.
They have already been added to the blue team, and have access to blue-side discussions and what not.
CSAF-Shephard is the leader/admin for this squadron.
Welcome chaps!

Some of the chaps from the famous "scorched earth" IL2 campaigns have joined SoW and will be flying on the blue team.
This adds some very much needed Blue-team players (includign bomber pilots) to the Australia and New Zealand timezone.
WTE_Ikey will be administering this squadron.
I have known Ikey for about 10 to 15 years! He goes way back to the good old days of IL2 multiplayer!
Welcome also to
[SEOWHQ]_Faustnik
JG26_Badger
who have also registered as part of SEOWHQ
